You have experience in consumer electronics or automotive industries and with using a variety of hand tools.

Job Description

Reporting to the Garage Manager, the Automotive Electronics Technician will work in the garage attending to various jobs for the taxi fleet and outside clients as well as for our various fleets including limos, vans, transit buses and occasionally 1-ton and diesel equipment from the towing division.

Responsibilities

  • Provide troubleshooting and diagnostics on electronics including tablets, POS machines, cameras etc.
  • Installation of new and added-on equipment including top lights, cameras, tablets, POS Machines, etc.
  • Strip new starts for taxi fleet
  • Monitor parts usage and report on any materials issues
  • Assist in ordering equipment, parts, and supplies
  • Accurate completion of work orders and timecards
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance
  • Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
  • Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques
  • Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to occupational health and safety regulations
  • Perform in a team environment with minimal supervision
  • Monitor and act on general maintenance, cleaning of shop, and equipment and keeping a safe and orderly shop area
  • Additional tasks are required

Education and Qualifications

  • 3 years experience in automotive electronics
  • Valid Alberta driver’s license required
  • Grade 12 Diploma
  • Computer experience required

Working Conditions

  • Shop and yard environments with moderate noise, odours, and dust
  • Lifting to 35lbs
  • Frequent standing, walking, use of hands to manipulate, handle or feel; reaching with hands or arms
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Must have the mobility to easily access and move in and out vehicles and equipment
